I really love.... Whatever the heck you call it. My favorite leagues are the English Premier League and Dutch Eredivisie, because the Dutch are producing some of the best young players ever.
My favorite clubs are Arsenal because Dennis Bergkamp played there, Bayern Munich only because Mark van Bommel plays there, and PSV Eindhoven because it was Guus Hiddink's true club and had created some of the best players in the world.

MY ULTIMATE XI

Due to the rediculously long history of football, I only chose players I've seen play, so therefore players from recent history. That's why there's no Johan Cruijff [ORANJE!!], Franz Beckenbauer [GERMANY], Pelé [BRAZIL], Gerd Müller [GERMANY], Deigo Maradona [ARGENTINA], Lev Yashin [SOVIET UNION], Michel Platini [FRANCE], George Best [NORTHERN IRELAND], the list goes on....
So, here's the position key so you know what's what for those of you who don't know what's what.

The formation I use is not common at all. In fact, I've only seen it used twice, by teams that play totaalvoetbal [Dutch for Total Football; look it up], a style of play mastered by Johan Cruijff and is, in my opinion, the best style of play.So that's why I chose this formation.

Just for kicks and giggles, (C) designates the captain of the team.
After the position, I gave the player's name, his club status, and country, then put a cute little picture so if you ever go to wherever and see him you can start screaming, "I KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!!"
Some players club status says "retired." That's because they're retired. Duh. But I have only put players on this that I have seen on the T.V. with my own two eyes. So they count.
Oh yeah, and ORANJE is the Dutch word I use for my beloved NEDERLANDS.

The positions of RWM and the whole Defense was hard to select because, for RWM, I can't for whatever reason think of a RWM I really like. Cambiasso comes the closest. He usually plays in a defensive center-midfielder position, but I really wanted him starting. He has amazing ball distribution skills.
For Defense, I just can't think of a defense made up of my favorite players that would work good together. Oh well....
So, as you can see, many of my players are retired or, if you look them up, are very old for football [34 is pushing it]. That just goes to show that I favor beautiful football. Football was at its best in the late 1990's and early 2000's, when most of my players were at their prime.
